Proposed Amendment
SEC. 1. PASS STICKERS
Section E-26 is amended by striking “every student” and inserting in its place “every freshman and sophomore”.
Section E-26A of the Student Handbook, entitled “Pass Stickers”, is created with the following text:
“A pass sticker will be issued to every junior and senior during the first week of school, which will be applied to the student ID. This pass sticker replaces the passport. Stickers are nontransferable.
Such pass stickers may be revoked by physical removal from the student’s ID at the discretion of faculty members, or if any of the following revocation criteria are met:
- The student receives a citizenship grade of less than 3 from any teacher;
- The student violates rules to receive a disciplinary action of any of the following throughout the school year:
- two extended (classroom) detentions
- one general (administrative) detention
- any suspension
In the case that a student’s pass sticker is revoked, he or she must revert to using the passport, effective as soon as the sticker is removed.”
SEC. 2. HANDBOOK UPDATE
As there are no longer pay phones in the school, Section E-25 of the Student Handbook is amended by striking the last sentence of the section (beginning with “Passes”).
