Amity High School Student Government Meeting 4/2/12
A monthly meeting of the Amity High School Student Government was held on April 2, 2012 at 6:30 P.M. in the Lecture Hall
1. Mr. Marazzi called the meeting to order at 6:39 P.M.
2. 54 members of the student government were recorded present on the roll call. Zhang Liu and Allison Giebisch were not present.
3. The Pledge was skipped due to the absence of a flag.
4. Corresponding Secretary Report
None
5. Treasury Report
Treasurer Sarah Giovanniello reported that there was around $6,000 in the account.
6. Class Council Reports
Freshman Class- Reported that there would be a bake sale on Saturday and Pretzel Fundraiser where they will be receiving 50% of the profits.
Sophomore Class- Currently working on bake sales and recently finished a fundraiser.
Junior Class- Planning give back nights at Chilies and working on Junior Prom.
Senior Class- Currently finalizing senior prom.
Old Business
7. Food Drive
President Tricia Coffey thanked everybody, the chairs, and the costumes the walked around during lunch collecting money.
New Business
8. Student Government Ad for Legally Blonde Playbill
Marazzi asked for permission for purchase of Ad for the Amity Production Legally Blonde.

Motion to Purchase a Half Page Ad for Legally Blonde to be featured in The Legally Blonde Playbill. (Ashley Griffin, 2nd Brent Marieb)

9. Student Government Ad for Amity Hall of Fame
Mr. Marazzi asked the student government if he could purchase an ad in the Amity Hall Of Fame Booklet honoring former students at Amity who have had great successes.

10. Revised Citizenship Proposal
Thomas explained the policy and thanked all those involved in crafting the new policy.

Motion to Approve the Revised Citizenship Policy and Send The Revised Policy To The Principal.

Open Forum
1. Student Government Attendance Policy
Mr. Marazzi explained his policy on attendance, stating as long as there is communication between a member and the executive board, there will be no action taken. He also explained that he is not in charge of the class councils, therefore, if an issue arises, he recommends to take it up with the advisor.
2. High School Challenge
Jennifer Eng brought up the High School challenge and stated that Charlie looks forward to seeing him us in the fall. Jennifer Eng stated that there would be a table at Relay For Life for the High School Challenge and if anybody wanted to work on the table that would be great.
3. Microphone System
The purchased microphone system will be coming in the Fall.
4. Executive Session (6:55-6:57)
5. Auditorium Naming
Mr. Marazzi explained what happened at the April Board Of Education Meeting and stated that the student government will be staying out of the issue and the naming of the Auditorium will be in the Board’s hand.
